Born in 1452 in the small town of 'villa toscana de Vinci' on Italy, son of Catherine and Ser Piero, one of the brightest minds of all time, name by his father as Leonardo had lived in this village wwhen Italy was then a patchwork of city-states such as Florence, the area was flushed from the different mountains and sunsets that characterize them, a perfect area but political problems, tailored to the route to one of the most celebrated painters future the world.
His enormous curiosity manifested itself early, drawing mythological animals of his own invention, inspired by a deep observation of the natural environment in which he grew up, one of the biggest fixtures Da Vinci were the birds. But what we need to emphasize that Leonardo Da Vinci was that his inspiration for the creation of his paintings was involved extensively with his life, his ideologies and the feeling of deliverance of the church. For these reasons we can notice in different works that he had capture the essence of his characters, in an exceptional form since he did not added the brightness or light in the eyes of the characters which created the illusion that her gaze follows you across the room creating liberation of the character in the painting as in the case of ‘La Gioconda’ (1506) and the painting of ‘San Juan Bautista’ (1516). Throughout his life Da Vinci was a renown and recognized painter but he had never the opportunity to paint for pleasure in an open way, in other words the paintings he had created during the years 1480-1500 could only be displayed if they were commissioned by some church or person, which led him to have a personal journal were he kept his personal investigations and paintings. For example the work of 'Virgin of the Rocks' (1482) requested by Lorenzo de Medici, showed what Lorenzo had ordered a short part of the Bible’s verse, but the star of this painting is the nature contrary to the Virgin who is only washing up some clothes. However, this entrepreneurial spirit by releasing his point of view was not his only variable in the expression shown in his paintings, Da Vinci, considered the human anatomy fascinating as well as engineering, thus he had done series of anatomical studies performed on cadavers, something that was not allowed by the church and the awe in series of drawings explaining pregnancy, the physiology of our body, reproductive organs, and explained inventions based on engineering drawings with military purposes, among others. Also it has to be emphasized that although Leonardo was not a true Christian one of his most outstanding paintings was that of 'The Last Supper' (1498) Leonardo tells the story of the consternation that Caused this statement to the twelve followers of Jesus and shows specifically the Moment When Jesus has just said "one of you will betray me", where he, as always had unprinted his signature adding only the vivid eye to one of the 12 followers looking straight to Jesus.
In conclusion, the life and work of Leonardo Da Vinci, are completely linked to one another as I have already explained and in my opinion he was a pioneer in research as well as scientific advances that within the time were later silenced by the power of the church, however, he had very clear perspective and a representation of himself which led him to never felt or be oppressed in his paintings showing who was Da Vinci and his point of views on the work, its environment and the society around them at the time.
